It was nice to finally get back to what felt like a normal week. Actually having rehearsal on a Wednesday and no snow (or threat of potential snow – the whole world shuts down here when the s word is mentioned). Last week was an acoustic set which was nice and still very moving. God doesn’t move in a music style he moves in honesty and brokenness. This week we wanted to truly kick off the new year with energy, excitement and praise and worship! Logistically the holidays can be a nightmare for scheduling rehearsals and momentum can sometimes feel like it’s slipping away. I can admit that I felt that way recently. I almost had to introduce myself to the choir at our last rehearsal. So in choosing a day to kick of 2011 (being as we chose a broken down set the previous week due to weather and holiday schedules) we chose a day with energy as if to say we are here to praise, we are here to pour our hearts out; a chance for us to just put our hands in the air and say You are the reason we sing. It was a great day from top to bottom.
