WCON Worship Set July 16/17

Can I just say we were 30 minutes away from making this an acoustic set! For some reason this week saw just about every drummer I have available out of town for the weekend and the one guy scheduled had an honest family emergency pop up on Saturday. I was just about ready to pull the trigger on an acoustic weekend when I got a call from one of my friends whom I frantically text earlier. And what a weekend it was. People responded in a great way. It’s humbling to remember sometimes that we don’t really control how things are going to work in service. God is in control not us.

Greatly To Be Praised by Steve Fee and Eddie Kirkland
Your Grace Is Enough by Matt Maher
Glory To God Forever by Vicky Beeching and Steve Fee
Shout To The Lord by Zschech, Darlene (Lincoln Brewster inspired)

WCON Worship Set July 9/10

First week of video announcements at WCON. Went really well, many minor tweaks I still want to make but it’s a great start. They seemed to be accepted really well being that this was a first here (check them out below). It was a really good day I know a portion of the songs are older but they really seemed to connect today in ways they haven’t in the past. Love it when God does something unexpected. We also started our Red Letters series and we decided to take the main scripture for the day and present it in video format throughout the service to help reinforce the message. I’ll post those at a later time.

New Video Announcements

There Is A Fountain by William Cowper and Lowell Mason (Enfield Hymn Sessions Version)
Blessed Be Your Name by Matt and Beth Redman
Revelation Song by Jennie Lee Riddle
You Are My King (Amazing Love) by Billy Foote
Victory by Cody Carnes

WCON Worship Set Jun 25/26

This has to be one of the most eclectic weeks I’ve been part of in a long time.  From modern to contemporary to a little southern gospel to an a cappella hymn.  But all the different parts came together and created a wonderful moving service.  I have fallen in love with One Thing Remains (better known to CCLI as Higher than the Mountains (Love Never Fails)).  It has quickly become one of my favorite to play on my iPod and to lead in worship services.  Check it out it’s killer!  This was a big week as it was another choir weekend which is always a great time and they stepped up big time to pull off some new music as well as provide a soul stirring a cappella version of Glorify Thy Name.

One thing Remains by Brian Johnson
Choir – He Made The Difference by James Bignon (Christ Church Version)
All Because Of Jesus by Steve Fee
Let The Praises Ring by Lincoln Brewster
We Fall Down with Holy, Holy, Holy by Chris Tomlin (Hymn by Heber. Reginald and
John Bacchus Dykes)
Choir – Glorify Thy Name (a cappella) by Adkins, Donna

WCON Worship Set May 22/23

I probably should have prepared more for this weekend but I mean who really thought Harold Camping would be wrong with his rapture prediction? This was the first weekend with the choir since I came aboard at WCON. Moving from a choir special every single week to a couple choir numbers once a month will definitely be different but as far as preparation goes it’s much less hectic. Not to mention the hope that there will be an overlap of music that both you and your new choir are familiar enough with to feel comfortable. But once again It was an amazing weekend with a wonderful new choir and faith family. The presence of God was thick in that place as we celebrated new life through baby dedications, baptisms, and testimony. Worship together was powerful and meaningful. I love that this is my “job” each week.

In The Sanctuary by Kurt Carr

WCON Worship Set May 14 & 15

Sorry that my blog posts have been so few and far between. Life has been good but very very busy getting adjusting to a new ministry, new schedule, and just about a new everything. I have thoroughly been enjoying my new ministry here at WCON. The first month so far has been spent getting to know everyone serving in my ministries, figuring out how things have been operating both in the interim and under the previous Worship Pastor, and just getting my feet back underneath me while I figure out each next step. It was another great weekend at WCON and though I have yet to master the language change from morning to evening on Saturdays, I am excited and blown away at the response in worship services so far.

All Because Of Jesus by Steve Fee
Blessed Be Your Name by Matt and Beth Redman
There Is A Fountain by William Cowper and Lowell Mason (Enfield Hymns Version)
Revelation Song by Jennie Lee Riddle
My Savior My God by Aaron Shust and Dorothy Dora Greenwell

WCON Worship Set: Apr 30/May 1

It was a little nerve-racking to step onto a foreign stage and lead a new faith family in worship. I arrived in Westminster on the Tuesday after Easter (having just lead a Palm Sunday production, holy week services, and Easter Sunday). The week leading up to my first time leading worship with WCON was a whirlwind to say the least. But when I stepped up for the first Saturday night together I felt strangely comfortable and at ease. I mean I have led worship all over the country each a first time together but this night was different. It wasn’t a calm derived from years of experience but a calm born out of a gentle confirmation that God had orchestrated this to be and this was His plan for this next chapter of my life.
3 baptisms for the weekend was also a great way to start off my tenure here at WCON. A celebration of life, new life, and new family. Before our first service Sunday morning started I took some time to pray for this new family as well as my old extended family back in Tennessee. As long as I can get out of the way, God is going to do great things here in Denver (as well as Tennessee).

All The Earth Will Sing Your Praises by Paul Baloche
You You Are God by Beach, Walker
God You Reign by Lincoln Brewster and Mia Fieldes
From the Inside Out by Joel Houston
My Jesus I Love Thee/Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus/You Are My King Medley (original arrangement)

Grace Church Set List 3.27.11

It was a bittersweet day today. This week has been one of the longest weeks in my life. It’s the week I have had to announce to some of my closest friends that God is leading my wife and me to Denver Colorado. It’s hard to give that news to people you have lived life together with, have poured yourself into, and have grown with personally and musically. Nonetheless, through much prayer we are just trying to be listening to what God has in store for our lives. Even though personally it was a different day, it’s not about me – Worship was wonderful this week. We played to new songs (well one new presentation of an old hymn). I have fallen in love with Resolved Music’s Enfield Hymn Sessions version of There is a Fountain – just absolutely love it. And Stay Amazed is a song I highly recommend for your worship services if you haven’t already been singing it – powerful!

Hear Our Praises – Reuben Morgan
All Because Of Jesus – Steve Fee
Everlasting God – Brenton Brown and Ken Riley
There Is A Fountain – William Cowper and Lowell Mason (Enfield Hymns Version)
Stay Amazed – Jamie Birkenfeld, Klaus Kuehn, and Robert Quintana

Grace Church Set List 3.20.11

Celebrating Baptisms is alway a great moment in our services.  We had the great honor to celebrate 5 baptisms Sunday.  Powerful stuff.  It’s hard to have a bad day when that is taking place in service.  Just all in all a great moving day.  Another highlight was an a cappella It Is Well With My Soul.  We don’t do a ton of a cappella or a lot of standard arranged hymns but it was truly a highlight that created a different moment in our service.  We shared the story behind the hymn which helped to connect the congregation on a deeper level with the song and the Love of God.

Sing Sing Sing – Daniel Carson, Matt Gilder, Travis Nunn, Jesse Reeves, and Chris Tomlin
You You Are God – Walker Beach
From The Inside Out – Joel Houston
It Is Well With My Soul – Philip Paul Bliss and Horatio G. Spafford
Give Us Clean Hands – Charlie Hall

Grace Church Set List 3.13.11

I really wish the powers that be would either forget the whole daylight savings time idea or make the time change happen like in mid afternoon on a friday or something. Every year I set 4 alarms because I’m never quite sure if my phone will change on it’s own in time or not. Anyway that being said it turned out to be a pretty good day even with an hour less sleep. There was a noticeable difference in number of people in first to second service this week. There was also a difference in the music between the two services I’m sure as well (takes a while for that coffee to really kick in ha ha). But the great thing is that God is faithful. We had a great day lack of sleep and all.

We Will Sing – Nathan Sutliff
Blessed Be Your Name – Beth Redman and Matt Redman
Your Grace Is Enough – Matt Maher
Mercy and Grace – Clint Brown, Mark Payne, and Larue Steward
The Potter’s Hand – Darlene Zschech

Grace Church Set List 3.6.11

It was good to be back after a week off. Had another great Sunday with a really great set culminating in a time of communion. Singing and watching people leave their seats to come dip the bread then move to the altar if led was a great sight. I love days that end in communion with the faith family. And can I express how much I am loving Say So right now? I know it’s a little bit older of a song for some, but for us it’s relatively new and has such a great energy you just can’t keep from letting it overtake you.

Today Is The Day – Paul Baloche and Lincoln Brewster
Say So – Michael Gungor and Israel Houghton
God You Reign – Lincoln Brewster and Mia Fieldes
Order My Steps – Glenn Burleigh
The Heart Of Worship – Matt Redman
‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus – Louisa Stead and William Kirkpatrick
Remembrance (Communion Song) – by Matt Maher and Matt Redman
